Campbell was born in London, England, on February 4, 1970. He began his professional career with Arsenal in 1988 and made his debut for the club in the 1988-89 season. Campbell scored nine goals in 20 appearances for Arsenal in the 1990-91 season, helping the club win the old First Division title.
Campbell left Arsenal in 1995 and went on to play for Nottingham Forest, Everton, and West Bromwich Albion. He scored 103 goals in 313 appearances in the Premier League, making him one of the most prolific strikers in the league's history.
